Crawford's KMC on Demand(SM) Offers Industry-Leading Knowledge Platform

New brand reflects expanded online educational service

ATLANTA, Jan. 21 -- Crawford & Company has expanded its already extensive range of training and educational services for the loss adjusting industry into a new knowledge management center called KMC On Demand (www.kmcondemand.com). The enhanced product includes new courses, online tracking of continuing education units and a company-specific Expert Forum database designed to capture and share expert knowledge of loss adjusting topics and issues.

KMC On Demand is a unique platform that marries cutting-edge knowledge management technology with vetted and customized insurance courses, performance support information that adjusters can easily reference, and an Adjuster's Desk with online forms and other tools for claims administration. The Expert Forum allows adjusters within an organization to submit questions online and stores a company's specific questions and answers in a database for online searching by category and keyword by its adjusters.

Increased knowledge and efficiency are among the many benefits of KMC On Demand. Other benefits include improved competency levels, faster learning and cost savings for participants. "We are the only company to offer such a wide array of learning and performance tools," said Jeffrey T. Bowman, Crawford president and CEO. "KMC On Demand is a perfect tool for new and inexperienced staff coming into our industry, as well as being a great resource for seasoned professionals wanting to move to the next level in their careers."

KMC On Demand includes a custom learning management system that offers courses adjusters are required to complete and a module editor that enables clients to customize any of the 150 auto liability, property, casualty, transportation, earthquake and workers' compensation modules now offered, with more in development. First quarter course additions include auto physical damage, advanced workers' compensation, advanced casualty, personal liability, commercial trucking and negotiations.

Where necessary, KMC On Demand courses are approved for adjuster state continuing education (CE) credits; when an adjuster completes a CE course, the KMC On Demand system automatically applies for CE credit. Another new feature of KMC On Demand is a CE database, which adjusters can use to track information by state about their licenses and CE credits they have gained.

KMC On Demand can be accessed either as a custom enterprise service for an entire organization or by individuals and small groups, which can purchase courses by credit card via the Web site and also obtain access to most of the KMC On Demand features, including the Adjuster's Desk and performance support tools. "The goal is to conveniently provide knowledge to all who need it by using a repository of reference materials and formal and informal learning," says Colm Keenan, vice president of e-learning services for Crawford & Company. KMC On Demand is part of Crawford Educational Services, a full-service provider of classroom, online and blended (classroom and online combined) educational opportunities for claims professionals. Crawford acquired online educational capabilities in mid-2007 and has steadily expanded its online offerings since that time. KMC On Demand replaces the former Crawford Online offering.
