Yokogawa Enhances Its Knowledge Management Package Exapilot R3.01 Released



Newnan, Georgia - Yokogawa announces the release of its new Exapilot R3.01 version of its knowledge management software package. This software tool provided by Yokogawa Electric Corporation makes it easy for users to standardize and accumulate the operation knowledge and skill of their expert operators and to utilize that know-how and expertise in daily operations in order to achieve a safer and more cost-effective operation.

Experienced operators accumulate operation knowledge and skill, such as the best procedure for plant startup operation, product switchover operation, trouble shooting, and generally have suggestions to improve safety or operation efficiency. Exapilot can visualize that operation knowledge and skill in the form of a flow chart diagram, and can run it as a navigation program in daily operation.

Exapilot supports the following improvements in operating efficiency:
- Reduce operating time while maintaining product quality,
- Reduce labor while maintaining safe operation
- Reduce utility costs
- Prevent operator errors
- Ensure that operator know-how is not lost

Exapilot builder functions represent operating procedures through an easy to understand flow chart tool set. Exapilot builder functions include procedure parts such as Pump Start/Stop, Set Valve Opening, Ramp Up/Down, Request Field Work, Pause, Wait for Condition, Wait for defined period. By linking these parts on the screen, an experienced operator can create a procedure that operates as a semi-automatic sequence. A created sequence then doubles as an operating screen.

The new release provides Exapilot functionality on either Windows Operating system on a general purpose PC.
o Enhancements in Advanced Alarm Function
Displays the Correlation Diagnosis Window on the Operation Window.
New One-Shot (Falling-Edge Trigger) Unit Procedure.
New Timer Unit Procedure.
o Addition of Special purpose Unit Procedures
New Statistic Processing Unit Procedure. (Reads External data as an array-type variable, and performs average and standard deviation calculations.)
New E-Mail Communication Unit Procedure (as an additional option).

Exapilot is available in four separately priced versions making it cost effectiveness for user's needs:
1 Exapilot Professional (with 1 server and 8 clients, the concurrent execution of 4 main procedures)
2 Exapilot Standard (with 1 server and 2 clients, the execution of 1 main procedure)
3 Exapilot for HIS (with 1 server and 2 clients, the execution of 1 main procedures limited to read-only use)
4 Exapilot office (with 1 server and 2 clients, the execution of 1 main procedure limited to off-line use)
