Scientific Software Announces Release of Version 2.0 of CyberLAB Knowledge Engineering System



Pleasanton, California (November 7, 2001) -Scientific Software, Inc., a world leader in system solutions to the scientific community, announces the release of version 2.0 of its web-based CyberLAB Knowledge Engineering System(TM). This revision, which was based upon input from world-leading life science organizations, brings new capabilities and features designed to improve the efficiency and productivity of enterprise users. CyberLAB, fast becoming the standard for knowledge management in the life science industry, manages any and all electronic records for an enterprise. CyberLAB enhances compliance with US FDA requirements for electronic signature and electronic submission by meeting the requirements of 21 CFR Part 11.

Revision 2.0 offers many new features to the CyberLAB user. New features of revision 2.0 include:

* New user interface design which allows for tailoring of file display pages

* Additional SmartFilters(TM) for Waters Millenium32, AB | MDS Sciex Analyst, HTML, Adobe PDF, JCAMP, TIF and other file formats

* Unlimited user defined keys to enable manual key values, such as project ID, for electronic records

* File Association for grouping files into a single logical unit

* Enhanced searching capability, including full text phrase searches

* Ability to create templates of keys and key values for Adobe PDF and Extended Metafile Format (EMX) files

* Copy with traceability for PDF and EMX to provide trace to originating file when creating reports

* Support for clustered web servers to insure maximum uptime

* Support for Adobe 5, including CFR 21 Part 11 compliant electronic signature plug-in

* Support for SQL Server 2000 in addition to Oracle 8i
