Appleton Eccentric Knockout Boxes Give Electricians Greater Versatility for Installations

SKOKIE, IL, November 7, 2001 Electricians put in hundreds of knockout boxes each year, in virtually every application, whether it's simple maintenance, a retrofit job or a new installation. Recognizing the important role knockout boxes play in an electrician's professional success, Appleton Electric has introduced a new line of eccentric knockout boxes that offer improved flexibility, performance and cost- efficiency.

Built with a combination of 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch knockouts, these new boxes save room on an electrician's truck because one box does the job of two. Moreover, they are made of .0625 thick heavy-duty, galvanized sheet steel, so they won't rust or dent easily like lesser-quality boxes, and they'll continue to provide excellent protection for wiring systems or devices for an extended service period.

Installation of Appleton's eccentric knockout boxes is simple because the knockouts pop out cleanly, and the deep box gives ample room for electricians to reach conductors.

Appleton eccentric knockout boxes can be used in branch circuit wiring to splice wires, to accommodate wiring devices, such as switches and receptacles, and some may also serve as fixture supports. They feature oversized #10 combination slotted/Phillips heads to provide strength and rigidity. The boxes are UL Listed, providing bonding without the use of bonding jumpers.

Founded in 1903, Appleton manufactures a complete line of electrical products for hazardous and non-hazardous locations. It is part of the EGS Electrical Group.
