Knaack Manufacturing Receives 2006 Work Truck Show New Product Innovation Award

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - March 23, 2006 - Knaack Manufacturing Company received the 2006 "New Product Innovation Award" at The Work Truck Show in Atlanta, GA earlier this month.

Knaack Manufacturing won this year's award for its new line of WEATHER GUARD® steel truck boxes with improved features that enhance jobsite security and productivity. The company also won for its low-profile aluminum truck boxes that provide contractors with greater visibility through the rear window especially for newer pickup truck designs that feature higher bed rails.

Voting took place during The Work Truck Show 2006 March 1-3 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA. The Work Truck Show was held in conjunction with the 42nd Annual National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Convention Feb. 28-March 3.

Introduced in 2004, the "New Product Innovation Award" recognizes the best new product or product innovation among exhibiting companies participating in the New Product Spotlight and the New Product Media Guide programs. Work Truck Show attendees were invited to cast a vote, with the exhibitor receiving the highest number of votes winning the award.

"We are very excited about winning the New Product Innovation Award for two main reasons. First, the award was determined by our customer base, the attendees of The Work Truck Show - this is truly a special honor. Second, the award demonstrates our commitment to end-user-focused, new product innovation in our WEATHER GUARD line of truck and van equipment," said Chad Severson, Knaack's vice president of marketing and product development.

The new and improved line of WEATHER GUARD steel boxes from Knaack Manufacturing has the following improvements: the Extreme Protection Lock(TM), a cover that opens to a full 90-degree angle, weather seal on all four sides underneath the lid, a new latch design that allows for easy "one touch" opening, a level holder for convenient and secure storage of 48" levels, a durable steel tray that provides additional space for smaller tools and accessories, and a 12-volt electrical access grommet that is standard on the box for electrical accessory upfits.

The WEATHER GUARD low-profile aluminum truck boxes provide contractors with greater visibility through the rear window especially for newer pickup truck designs that feature higher bed rails. Available in four SKUs and designed to fit most full and compact pickups, the low-profile truck boxes have been specifically designed for extra strength and durability.
