Kitamura Machinery Goes West with Medical Device Market Machining Speed and Precision

Mytrunnion-1 5-Axis Machining Center Machines, Grinds and Turns
With Ultra Precision and High Speed

LOS ANGELES, CA WESTEC BOOTH #3316 (March 27, 2008) - Kitamura Machinery, the premier manufacturer of horizontal, vertical and 5-axis machining centers, will showcase the high-precision capabilities of its 5-Axis and Horizontal Machining Centers at WESTEC 2008, Los Angeles Convention Center March 31-April 3. These next-generation machines offer unparalleled precision, accuracy and rigidity, resulting in higher productivity, fewer defects and greater market opportunities for manufacturers.

Kitamura's ultra high precision 5-axis machine, the Mytrunnion-1, will be featured at WESTEC. This versatile Machining Center combines machining, grinding and turning processes in a single set-up to create small- to medium-size precision parts and complex devices like orthopedic implants or aerospace parts. The machine's maximum stiffness, flexibility, and cutting capability make it an optimal choice for manufacturing parts for the medical, aerospace and telecommunications industries.
Kitamura will also feature the compact Mycenter-HX300iF Horizontal Machining Center at WESTEC.

With a work envelope comparable to that of a true 400mm horizontal and a compact table size, spindle interference typically associated with larger tables is reduced; resulting in increased productivity and efficiency. Its solid box way construction allows for the abrasion resistance and vibration absorption necessary when producing extreme tolerance work.

"In the aerospace industry for instance, where lives depend on the precise machining of nearly every part, there is very little margin for error," said Akihiro Kitamura, the company's President. "The types of machines designed for high-volume production at a lower cost can't meet those tolerances. Our commitment is to quality first; both in the machining centers themselves and the parts they produce. That combination helps drive out the waste, allowing organizations to meet the high demands of the designs while working more cost-efficiently."
