KEMET Expands Surface-Mount MLCC C0G Dielectric Platform Portfolio: Includes Many First-to-Market, Ultra-High Capacitance Values

Greenville, South Carolina (November 29, 2007) - KEMET Corporation

(NYSE:KEM) today announces the expansion of its surface-mount, multilayer ceramic capacitor product portfolio in C0G dielectric with the addition of over 80 first-to-market part types. KEMET now offers industry-leading capacitance values that combine ultra-high capacitance with the stability and performance of a Class 1 dielectric in a 100% Lead (Pb)-Free and environmentally friendly package. Introduction of these new part types provides design engineers with an MLCC alternative to competing capacitor technologies in applications that are sensitive to electrically and/or mechanically induced circuit noise.

Capacitance values have been extended in 10, 16, 25, 50 and 100 Volt rated EIA 0402, 0603, 0805, 1206, and 1210 case sizes and include capacitance tolerance offerings of F(±1%), G(±2%), J(±5%), K(±10%) and M(±20%).

Marquee HiCV values associated with this product offering include the following part types:

0402 Case Size: 2200pF@25V, 1500pF@50V and 1000pF@ 100V
0603 Case Size: 0.015uF@25V, 6800pF@ 50V and 4700pF@ 100V
0805 Case Size: 0.047uF@25V, 0.022uF@ 50V and 0.015uF@100V
1206 Case Size: 0.082uF@ 50V and 0.047uF@ 100V
1210 Case Size: 0.15uF@50V and 0.1uF@ 100V

With an operating temperature range of between -55°C and +125°C, and with capacitance shift limited to ±30ppm/°C over that range, these devices are an excellent choice for audio applications. They are designed to provide circuit functions of critical timing and tuning-in applications, including mobile communications, automotive electronics, and power supply circuits.

These new products exhibit no piezoelectric properties as well as no capacitance change with respect to applied rated DC voltage or time.

All parts are environmentally friendly, in compliance with RoHS legislation and are being offered in both commercial and automotive grades with 100% pure matte tin-plated terminations that allow for excellent solderability.

KEMET is continually developing its C0G portfolio and plans to add large case SMD HiCV and Tin/Lead Termination in the near future.

"We are excited about the continuing growth and development of our C0G dielectric platform," stated KEMET Chief Executive Officer Per Loof. "This expansion is yet another example of our commitment to becoming 'The Capacitance Company' and a technology leader in our industry."

Price ranges from $0.03 to $3.78 each depending on case and CV.

KEMET Corporation applies world-class service and quality to deliver industry-leading, high-performance capacitance solutions to its customers around the world. KEMET offers the world's most complete line of surface-mount and through-hole capacitor technologies across tantalum, ceramic, aluminum (organic and electrolytic), film and paper dielectrics.
