K-Tron and Premier Exhibit Automation Equipment for Batch and Continuous Pharmaceutical Processes at AAPS 2007, November 11-15, San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA, Booth 3200

PITMAN, NJ (October 11, 2007)- K-Tron will exhibit the latest feeding and conveying equipment for pharmaceutical processing applications at AAPS 2007, San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, CA, November 11-15, booth 3200. This show marks the first time that K-Tron and Premier exhibit at this event. Pharmaceutical process equipment on display include the MT12 Micro-ingredient Feeder, for low rate feeding applications and the Premier Pneumatics P30 Pharmaceutical receiver, one of several models available.

Units on display include:

K-Tron MT12 Microfeeder: For Low Rate Micro-ingredient Feeding
K-Tron will exhibit the latest version of the company's micro-ingredient feeder MT12, available in both pharmaceutical and industrial models. The MT12 will accurately feed free flowing to difficult to handle powders, at rates as low as 20 grams / hour and as high as 2000 grams/ hour, depending on material and installation environment. Both loss-in-weight (model KCL-SFS-MT12) and volumetric (model KCV-MT12) feeder models are available for continuous or batch operation. Options are available for automatic refill. The compact feeder is designed for ease of disassembly, allowing fast and easy cleaning. Typical applications for the micro feeder include feeding jet mills, tablet presses, continuous extrusion processes and any application where expensive micro ingredients require accurate feeding.

Premier Pneumatics P30: For Sanitary Pneumatic Conveying, Powders to Capsules
The Premier Pneumatics P-Series (P10, P30, P100) provides a sanitary, custom solution for difficult conveying applications. The sanitary design features include steep cone angles to ensure excellent discharge and band clamps for quick disassembly. Typical materials include tablets, capsules, flakes, and free-flowing to poorly flowing powders, specifically materials that need gentle conveying. The material conveying principle includes pneumatic, vacuum, dilute phase, and dense phase conveying. Conveying rates vary depending on model, product characteristics and conveying distances. Model on display: P30 unit, in mirror finish.
