Just in Time for Earth Day - New Bathroom Products Help Conserve Water

At this weekend's Kitchen/Bath Industry Show, Kohler Co. introduces a toilet, urinal and showerheads that offer water savings in residential and commercial settings

KOHLER, Wis., April 18 -- As people around the globe celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 22 and reflect on ways they can individually help conserve natural resources, Kohler Co., a global leader in kitchen and bath technology, introduces several low-consumption products for residential and commercial applications that help people save water. Kohler will introduce these products at the annual Kitchen/Bath Industry Show which begins this Friday in Chicago.

"Replacing older plumbing products with modern, water-efficient models is just one way that people can begin saving water in their homes and work places," said Ed Del Grande, host of "Ed the Plumber" on the DIY Network and Kohler's "how-to" expert. "For example, 3.5 gallon per flush toilets installed more than 10 years ago consume two unnecessary gallons of additional water each time they are flushed compared to new high-efficiency toilets that use only 1.28 gallons of water per flush."

Among the introductions this spring is the new Cimarron Comfort Height(TM) 1.28 gpf toilet with Class Five EcoSmart(TM) (EST) technology that can save homeowners up to 3,200 gallons of water per year over industry standard 1.6 gpf models. Additionally, Kohler introduces Steward(TM) waterless urinals that can save commercial users up to 40,000 gallons of water per fixture, per year over a standard 1.0 gallon urinal.

In the showering category, Kohler launches the new low-flow MasterShower(TM) Eco showerhead and handshower that provide homeowners and specifiers with additional options to conserve water and qualify for LEED credits. The 2.0 gpm sprayheads reduce water flow by up to 20 percent, while maintaining consistent performance and temperature.
