New Joystick From ITT Industries, Cannon Provides Durability for Harsh Environments

NEWTON, Mass. - December 6, 2004 - Designed for demanding applications, such as materials handling, agricultural or construction equipment, the new AJ4 joystick from ITT Industries, Cannon is durable and reliable with a life cycle of more than six million actuations. It combines flexibility with high mechanical strength, and can accommodate various standard or custom grips, as required. Building on the success of Cannon's AJ3 joystick, the AJ4 offers increased cycle life and a greater environmental protection level, among other enhancements. Cannon's AJ4 joysticks are environmentally sealed - IP67 above gate - with potted electronics, and meet international standards including ISO 11452-2/5, IOS 7637-0 and SEA J1113/41. Redundant mode operation ensures safety. Operating voltage is 9-16Vdc, and output options include 0.5-4.5Vdc, 500Hz for PWM and J1939 for CAN BUS. Operating temperature is -40 to +85degC, and maximum torque is 25Nm. The joysticks are fabricated in aluminium and weigh 860g.
