Jotun Paints Bags KD 70,000 Central Fruit & Vegetable Market Contract in Kuwait


Leading global paint manufacturer to use Jotafloor range for the government project's stalls and cold storage system

Jotun Paints, one of the world's leading producers and suppliers of paints and powder coatings, has announced that it has won a KD 70,000 contract to supply high quality paints and coatings for the Central Fruit & Vegetable Market in Kuwait. The contract includes the supply of the Jotafloor range to coat the floors of the stalls and the cold storage area, which occupies a total area of 90,000 sq. m. Currently, Jotun has executed 35 per cent of the new project, which is scheduled for completion by December 2007. The Central Fruit & Vegetable Market is the latest addition to its list of major clients in Kuwait, which includes the Ministry of Finance, The Avenue, The Gulf University of Science, Lulu Hypermarket among others.

The Jotafloor range, which is comprised of Jotafloor Solvent Free Primer, Jotafloor Topcoat and Jotafloor Coating, is specifically formulated for surfaces exposed to heavy traffic or harsh conditions. Jotafloor Topcoat is used for the coating of the floor of the shops, which has an area of 30,000 sq. m. whilst Jotafloor Coating is used in the cold storage area, which comprises an area of 60,000 sq. m. The Jotafloor range is epoxy-based and offers excellent chemical, abrasion and impact resistance. Jotun Topcoat also allows a custom look for every project with a wide array of colors whilst Jotafloor Coating is self-leveling, solvent free and can be applied in varying thickness to suit the function of the floor.

The Central Fruit & Vegetable Market is a major development project of the Kuwaiti government, and we are in a primary position to successfully undertake this contract and deliver within the set deadline.
