Paragon Introduces FireFly Digital Kiln

March 10, 2008

MESQUITE, TX - Paragon has just announced the portable 120-volt FireFly Digital kiln. The 8" square x 4 ½" high interior is rated to 2350 degrees F, so the kiln will fire jewelry made from glass, silver clay, porcelain, and stoneware.

"Use the FireFly's digital controller to duplicate the firing profile of your larger kilns," said John S. Hohenshelt, President of Paragon. "This is useful in testing glazes."

The FireFly Digital has an optional 2" x 2" high-temperature glass window in the top for monitoring glass fusing.

The kiln is made of 2 ½" thick insulating firebrick including a firebrick top and bottom. Dropped, recessed grooves protect the replaceable heating elements. The 45-pound Paragon FireFly ships by UPS.

The FireFly Digital is an upgraded version of the manual FireFly that Paragon introduced in 2007.
