JETCAM Previews v18 Expert and Four New Products at London Reseller Conference

JETCAM International s.a.r.l. today officially announced version 18 of its award-winning CAM and nesting software, along with four new products previewed at its global reseller conference held in Kensington, London between 10th - 12th September.
Key features of JETCAM Expert version 18, the first release of which to end users will be in December, include an entirely new user interface, Automatic Sheet Processing (ASP) and enhancements to JETCAM's optional high performance nesting module. An extensive list of further features is also scheduled to be released in 2015.
The new user interface draws much of its styling from JETCAM's CrossTrack product, and focuses on reducing the mouse movements a user has to perform during day-to-day operations. For example, the Exit screen button is now top left of the horizontal icon bar on all screen, allowing for quick navigation back to the main menu. All file management and tabular data views have been improved with new controls, and general performance enhancements have been made throughout the interface.

Automatic Sheet Processing, available for all Expert Premium users, allows for completely automatic skeleton destruction, unloading of parts, along with common punching/shearing. Said Martin Bailey, General Manager; "ASP marks a major step for JETCAM Expert. Users now have the choice of applying tooling on the part, on the nest or a combination of both. They can choose to respect tooling on the part, such as parts where 'taught' tooling has been applied, or they can simply override previously applied tooling."
Version 18 includes dozens of new features and enhancements across the application, including new and significant Right Angle Shear logic enhancements. Expert Lite users now also benefit from functionality previously only available in higher versions, such as CAD filtering.
High Performance Nesting
In v18 JETCAM has further enhanced its optional high performance nesting module. In addition to further improvements to nesting efficiency it now also takes advantage of multi-threading. With multi-core processors coupled with hyperthreading often including up to 16 usable cores this delivers much more efficient nests in a fraction of the time.
New product: CrossTrack for Sheet Metal
JETCAM officially announced CrossTrack 3 for sheet metal, which provides complete traceability and control of material stock, parts, assemblies, orders and nests - all in real time. Using MS SQL, CrossTrack provides a common interface across all relevant departments, allowing administrators to give access to the areas that each staff need, and hiding the areas they don't.

CrossTrack is now available in both sheet metal and composite manufacturing versions, which now allows companies working in both markets to use a common system in both manufacturing areas. CrossTrack is in use by companies such as Bombardier Aerospace and is suitable for all sizes of facility, with SME and Enterprise editions available. It won the Composites UK 'Innovation in Manufacture' award in 2013 and was a finalist in the MWP Advanced Manufacturing awards for best production management system in 2014.
New product: Cut Scheduler
A sister product to offer an alternative working method to JETCAM's JETTerm DNC product, Cut Scheduler provides full scheduling of nests for one or more machines. Cut Scheduler benefits from the new interface ethos, with pullout panes providing additional information along with the ability to show or hide information in the main screen. Other features include improved part identification, captured runtime details and comprehensive viewing and filtering of all nests available for cutting.

New product: Advanced Reports
Completely re-written from the ground up, JETCAM's new Advanced Reports will be the standard engine that drives reporting across the entire product range. It benefits from a major interface overhaul, bringing it in line with other products. Advanced Reports will be supplied as standard with JETCAM Expert and will be free for all customers under maintenance.

New product: AutoQuote
JETCAM announced a beta version of a new quotation product called AutoQuote. Supplied as a standalone system, AutoQuote allows the user to create comprehensive quotes on sheet metal components by simply dragging and dropping CAD files onto a quote. Within seconds all required CAD files are imported, tooled and nested, with full runtime estimation and costing data available, including a cost per part. This takes into consideration factors such as scrap value, and also allows the user to specify a cost for external processes such as welding or painting. AutoQuote will initially be available as a dealer release, with an end user release following in 2015.

Availability
Expert V18 will be a staged release, with the first build including the new user interface scheduled to be available to end users in December 2014. It will be supplied free to all customers under a current maintenance contract. Existing high performance nesting users have the option to upgrade to the new module. Cut Scheduler will be available at an introductory price to match that of JETTerm.
