JELD-WEN Reveals Sustainable Windows and Doors at Ecobuild

SHEFFIELD, England, - Visitors to Ecobuild will be able to view all the exciting new sustainable and energy efficient products from JELD-WEN at this year's Ecobuild show.

The leading manufacturer of high quality doors and windows will be demonstrating how its doors and windows provide market leading U values that enable developers to meet the higher levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes and provide an energy efficient upgrade to refurbished properties.

One of the most innovative designs to be unveiled by JELD-WEN at Ecobuild will be the company's new conservation window. The window offers a high level of thermal performance, but is almost indistinguishable from the traditional single-glazed window styles found in period properties. It has been designed to assist developers in achieving planning permission in conservation areas, as well as enhancing the appeal of new homes and upgrading thermal performance in replacement situations.

In a further exciting new development, JELD-WEN will showcase a new Box sash window, which combines a period look with modern levels of thermal performance. The window replicates the authentic style of classic Box sash windows, which includes being operated by weights and pulleys, making it ideal for sympathetic refurbishments and the conservation market.

In addition, the leading window manufacturer will be demonstrating its most popular window styles including its Stormsure range in an attractive oak finish, its DreamVu(TM) aluminium clad window, which offers very low maintenance and its popular Tilt n Turn windows, providing the ultimate in flexibility and ease of cleaning.

For specifiers and developers looking to increase natural light in properties, whilst enhancing thermal performance, JELD-WEN will be showcasing its DreamVu(TM) French doorset in timber, which achieves a U value of 1.0 W/m2K.

Joanne Garside, Product Manager for JELD-WEN, said: "There has been a great deal of innovation taking place within our window and patio range this year. Specifiers are looking for authentic, aesthetically pleasing styles of timber windows, but which can meet market-leading U values, which is exactly what we will be demonstrating at Ecobuild."

JELD-WEN is the first window manufacturer to release a 60 year guarantee, as an option on its fully factory finished windows. This unbeatable guarantee has been very well received, particularly by social housing providers, as it matches the predicted lifespan of new build properties.

Also on show at Ecobuild will be JELD-WEN's composite doorsets, including the new range of DreamVu(TM) 68 doorsets. The DreamVu(TM) 68 range features robust 68mm thick doorsets, which are ideal for social housing refurbishments or new builds and can achieve U values down to 0.7 W/m2K.

JELD-WEN will also be demonstrating its SecureFit(TM) Flat timber entrance doorset, which is now available in a 60 minute fire rated version (FD60). The doorset has been released to meet the growing demand from social housing providers for 60 minutes' fire protection, as well as a high level of resistance to intruders. The doorset is available to meet the requirements of Secured by Design accreditation, making it particularly suitable for use in high rise apartments or high density urban areas.

Also on display at Ecobuild will be JELD-WEN's exciting new range of moulded internal doors. This includes three new styles: the Newark, Linea and Cube designs, each of which has attractive glazed options. In the most significant design innovation in moulded doors for many years, the Linea and the Cube styles, each have a smooth finish and simple geometric styling to suit contemporary-styled homes. The Newark has an authentic woodgrain finish and a choice of glazing options and is designed to co-ordinate with either traditional or contemporary settings.

Each of the new moulded internal doors is available with FD30 or FD60 fire door options, making them ideal for commercial or public sector projects.

The use of oak is a continuing design trend in doors and JELD-WEN has enhanced the specification of its real wood veneer oak feature doors by introducing the range in an FSC certified American white oak veneer. The Oregon white oak range features ten designs, with a combination of classic four and six panel and attractive cottage door styles as well as glazed versions and a bi-fold option to complete the range. As with all of JELD-WEN's real oak veneer feature doors, they are supplied with full chain of custody certification.

Chris Miller, Product Manager at JELD-WEN, said: "There is so much for specifiers and developers to see on our Ecobuild stand this year. With increasing demand for lower U value external doorsets and high specification oak doors, our offering just shows how it is possible to combine both aesthetics and performance within our range."
