Japan Airlines Will Use ARINC's AviNet® Airport Network Solution

Singapore, May 9, 2007-ARINC Incorporated today announced that its customer Japan Airlines International (JAL), one of the world's premier airlines, has selected the economical and versatile AviNet® Airport wide-area network service from ARINC to enhance operational efficiencies and lower networking costs.

All airlines require reliable wide-area network service for a range of applications from ticketing to flight information. Many of these are legacy applications not designed for modern IP networking. ARINC's cost-effective AviNet Airport solution handles both legacy and modern IP applications using a single connection. It is available to airlines using ARINC's MUSE common-use passenger systems at airports around the world.

"Cost management and network availability are among the top priorities of our IT department," said Mr. Hisanori Sato, Director of Information Technology Planning at JAL. "ARINC's flat-rate pricing model for AviNet Airport will allow us to manage our budgets more effectively. In addition, we will have just one supplier for fault detection and resolution, which will help us ensure maximum network uptime for all our users."

Randy Pizzi, ARINC's Vice President and Managing Director, Asia/Pacific said "The open design and scalability of AviNet Airport make it the ideal platform for many of our aviation customers. Its multi-protocol support and flat pricing model allow airlines like
JAL to better manage their migration to IP and control their operational costs."

Japan Airlines joins other leading international carriers in switching to ARINC's versatile AviNet Airport service for their wide-area networking. With its protocol translation capability, AviNet Airport supports a full range of aviation networking requirements for check-ins, ticketing, baggage handling, fueling, gate management, flight information display systems, ground-handling operations, and many other airport applications.
