JAI’s 3.2-Megapixel Multi-Sensor 3-CMOS Cameras Now Available with GigE Vision Interface and Mini Camera Link Interface
COPENHAGEN – 10 April, 2018 – Today, JAI announced the availability of two additional interface types in the company’s line of 3.2 megapixel 3-CMOS prism-based area scan cameras.
The new models are the AP-3200T-PGE with GigE Vision interface delivering an output of 3 x 3.2-megapixels at 12 frames/second, and the AP-3200T-PMCL with a dual Mini Camera Link interface delivering an output of 3 x 3.2-megapixels at 55 frames/second. The two new models supplement the AP-3200T-USB with USB3 Vision interface (3 x 3.2-megapixels at 38 frames/second) released earlier this year. All three models feature 3 x CMOS Pregius™ IMX265 1/1.8-inch sensors with 2048 x 1544 pixels and pixel sizes of 3.45 µm x 3.45 µm.
Like the AP-3200T-USB model, the two new 3.2-megapixel Apex cameras are loaded with a range of advanced feature sets supporting the most challenging color imaging applications. The color space conversion tool provides great flexibility in on-board color space conversion: including RGB to HSI color space conversion and RGB to CIE-XYZ color space conversion. (sRGB and Adobe RGB color spaces are also supported).
The gain (both analog and digital) and the exposure time can be set independently for the red, green and blue sensor channels allowing for better signal/noise conditions. This maximizes the dynamic range for each color channel resulting in improved image quality.
With the color enhancer tool it is possible to strengthen certain colors in the image (double emphasis) for additive hues (red, green and blue) and subtractive hues (cyan, magenta and yellow). This feature is particularly useful in certain applications such as microscopy and medical imaging.
Other features include multi-ROI support, edge enhancement, ALC (integrated auto gain and auto shutter), color pixel binning and chunk data.
The new cameras utilizes a new prism design making it more than 50 percent smaller and nearly 50 percent lighter than JAI’s previous 3CCD models, despite having much higher resolution. The camera is robustly built with a 50G shock rating and 3G vibration rating which, combined with an operating temperature range of -5°C to +45°C (ambient), enables the cameras to operate reliably in a wide range of industrial environments.
