It's All About Sausages

German food manufacturer Döllinghareico GmbH & Co. KG is a pioneer when it comes to the sale of sausages in plastic packaging.
And following the current trend for safe, user-friendly plastic, the well-known company from Elmshorn is now using the RPC 500ml Thermic Ultra standard container supplied by RPC Kutenholz for three different products - Wiener, Hot Dog and Bockwürste sausages made without added lactose, gluten or flavour enhancers.
The multilayer structure of the extrusion blow moulded container ensures sustained high quality. A special barrier layer protects the product against excessive penetration of oxygen. Also, the containers are sterilised after filling.
The 63mm closures are produced by RPC Halstead. Because the packs can be resealed, the sausages are ideal as a snack, particularly on a journey.
"The high transparency of the container gives our customers a clear view of the appetising contents. The appearance of the packaging is more attractive than conventional tins, and sales have really taken off," comments Sebastian Kruse, Senior Product Manager at Döllinghareico.
"The collaboration with RPC Kutenholz was extremely cooperative and very target-orientated in this project," said Olaf Rohlfs, Purchasing Manager at Döllinghareico.
