Isolation Valve reduces possibility of leakage.

Press Release Summary:

Series 462 Resilient-Seal 3-way inert isolation valve utilizes soft FFKM (Kalrez®) disc within PTFE diaphragm to create tight seal. Highly inert materials such as PTFE, PEEK, and FFKM make it suitable for handling aggressive reagents or high purity media found in analytical instrumentation. Internal volumes and dead volumes are also minimized to avoid contamination and reagent waste. Valve is 1 in. dia x 1.5 in. high with power consumption under 3 W.

ASCO Introduces Miniature Isolation Valve with "Resilient-Seal" Technology: Series 462 Greatly Reduces Possiblity of Leakage

Florham Park, NJ - ASCO Scientific has introduced a new "Resilient-Seal," three-way inert isolation valve that greatly reduces the possibility of leakage. The new Series 462 "Resilient-Seal" Inert Isolation Valve technology utilizes a soft FFKM (Kalrez*) disc within a PTFE diaphragm to create a tight seal against the valve.

Standard PTFE diaphragm constructions can enable fluid containing particulate matter to scratch the diaphragm and create leak paths, effecting the accuracy of processing. The "forgiving nature" of the Series 462's soft, FFKM (Kalrez*) seal prevents this type of damage.

The Series 462 is constructed of highly inert materials such as PTFE, PEEK, and FFKM (Kalrez*), which makes it ideal for handling aggressive reagents or high purity media commonly found in analytical instrumentation. Internal volumes and dead volumes are also minimized to avoid contamination and expensive reagent waste.

The Series 462 is specifically designed to meet the needs of designers of analytical instrumentation. This efficient design is capable of millions of operations, saves valuable space in OEM equipment with its extremely compact construction (1" dia. X 1.5" height), and operates with a power consumption under 3 Watts.

A division of Emerson, ASCO's valves are found in products as diverse as saline flow control mechanisms used during eye microsurgery to pilot control valves in major interstate gas pipelines. The company's products are marketed through a network of direct sales offices, technically oriented representatives and distributors throughout the world.
