Schaevitz Introduces New Low-Pressure/Low-Cost Isolated Pressure Sensor

Hampton, VA, July 2003 - Schaevitz Sensors, a division of Measurement Specialties, Inc. (AMEX: MSS), has introduced a new line of low-pressure isolated pressure sensors, the Level Master Series, which incorporate stainless steel and plastic isolation suitable for drinking water and other fluid or gas measurements.

The new Level Master Series uses a patent-pending low cost stainless steel sensor in a plastic fitting, and features a modular design that is adaptable to an infinite number of plastic port variations. The small size vs. performance enables the miniaturization of high accuracy pressure and vacuum systems. The standard output is .5V to 4.5V with a 5V supply.

The Level Master features very low- to mid-pressure ranges (1 psi thru 150psi) and has a high Level output (.5 to 4.5V with 5V supply). Pigtail cable connections are standard but in high volume applications, the design is easily customized for with a large number of different connections.

The new Level Master is ideally suited for high volume low-cost shallow tank level measurement applications including recreational vehicle holding tank level, rainwater recycling, chillers/evaporative coolers and beverage dispensing.

Measurement Specialties (AMEX: MSS), designs, develops, produces, and sells electronic sensors and sensor-based consumer products. Consumer products include body-weight, kitchen, and postal scales, electronic tire pressure gauges, parking aids, and distance estimators. Industrial products include sensors for high volume, OEM applications. Measurement Specialties' products employ specialized application specific integrated circuits (ASICs), and diverse sensor technologies based on micromachining (the three-dimensional sculpting of silicon), MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems), force balance, strain gage, capacitive, inductive, piezoresisitive micromachined, and piezopolymer film, which provide accurate and efficient measurement, resolution and display of ranges of distance, motion, fluid level, force, displacement, angle, or pressure.
