SEATTLE, March 23 - Isilon® Systems (NASDAQ:ISLN), the leader in clustered storage, today announced that Isilon IQ was named as "Best of FOSE 2007" in the event's storage award category. The GCN Best of FOSE Awards, selected by Government Computer News editors, highlight new and innovative technologies across a wide range of categories at the world's largest gathering of government IT professionals.

More than 100 high technology companies submitted new products in the annual GCN Best of FOSE Awards program. Seventeen products from 16 companies including Advanced Micro Devices, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Motorola, and Research In Motion's Blackberry received the distinguished award across a wide range of technology categories. The awards are judged by the GCN Lab staff and the technology editors of GCN and Washington Technology for outstanding technology advancement and innovation. Isilon recently announced that NASA World Wind and USGS Astrogeology are using Isilon IQ in advanced satellite imaging projects capturing ultra high resolution imagery of both Earth and Mars, respectively. Specifically, NASA is using Isilon IQ clustered storage to power World Wind, an open source, virtual globe enabling online users to explore the Earth and its terrain through visually rich, high resolution 3D imagery. Meanwhile, USGS Astrogeology has selected Isilon IQ as the primary storage repository for High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) data. HiRISE, currently orbiting Mars onboard NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO), is an advanced digital imaging project led by the University of Arizona.
