iSALUS healthcare(TM) Teams with Indianapolis Medical Society to Provide Physicians with Free Access to Electronic Medical Records (EMR) System

INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 24 // -- iSALUS healthcare(TM) and the Indianapolis Medical Society (IMS) are providing IMS member physicians with free access to an online electronic medical records (EMR) system, OfficeEMR(TM), for one year. This first-of-its-kind collaboration could drive the potential of an electronically connected healthcare industry closer to reality by providing the incentive for physicians to adopt electronic medical records.
Through this initiative -- which is being dubbed the "Preferred Physician Program" -- Indianapolis-based IMS member physicians will utilize OfficeEMR(TM), an online electronic medical records, practice management and claims processing system from iSALUS healthcare(TM), for one year without charge. As such, IMS and iSALUS(TM) will help IMS physicians overcome one of the most frequently cited barriers to EMR adoption-namely the monetary investment required to implement a system.

Many physician practices, especially smaller ones, however, simply don't have the financial resources needed to implement an electronic medical records system. Under this groundbreaking collaboration, IMS members can access the iSALUS(TM) OfficeEMR(TM) product suite for a full year without incurring any subscription charges, paying only for the initial training. After using OfficeEMR(TM) for one year, the physicians can either opt out of the Preferred Physician Program or enter into the second year of a five-year subscription- based contract to use the online EMR system. IMS member physicians who drop out of the program after a year will be provided with all of their electronic data and records.
OfficeEMR(TM) provides a full spectrum of functions including:
o storage/retrieval of scanned images, vital signs and exams
o easy creation of clinical notes in SOAP (subjective, objective,
assessment, plan) format
o electronic prescription ordering
o order processing including the receipt of laboratory data
In addition, the iSALUS(TM) OfficeEMR(TM) solution includes an integrated practice management and claims processing solution, enabling physician groups to computerize all facets of their organizations.
