Research, Inc. Unveils Improved Series of Infrared Line Heaters

August 1, 2005, Eden Prairie, MN - Research, Inc., an industry leader in the design, development and manufacture of electric infrared heating equipment, introduces the newly improved LineIR® infrared heater series. The LineIR heater series offers the capability to concentrate radiant heat to a long, narrow area for any application that requires a clean, responsive, non-contact heat source.

Research, Inc.'s LineIR series includes the Model 5194, which generates highly concentrated radiant energy along a thin line from 0.08-0.18 inches (2-5mm) wide. It can be purchased in various lengths from 2.25 inches for short applications, to 38 inches for applications that require a longer length of concentrated heat. Heat flux densities up to approximately 678 watts per inch (267 watts per cm) can be achieved with the Model 5194 operating at the lamp's rated voltage. It can rapidly heat products to temperatures of 2400°F (1315°C).

Typical applications for the Model 5194 include soldering, unsoldering, drying ink, forming plastic, curing epoxy, and annealing. The design and functionality of the Model 5194 supplies a variety of features and related benefits, including rapid response, continuous operation, modular design, target product sizes, and high heat flux density.

The quartz halogen lamp heats up and cools down instantly as voltage is varied. The extruded aluminum construction of the Model 5194 combined with water and air-cooling allows the heater to withstand continuous high-temperature operation.

The modular design of the heater allows units to be installed in a variety of configurations suitable for many applications. An optional quartz window can be installed in the heater to protect the aluminum reflector and lamps from contaminants released during the heating process resulting in maximum efficiency of the heater.

The LineIR is now available worldwide through Research, Inc.'s extensive distribution network. Sales inquiries should be directed to Gail Martinson, Research, Inc., 7128 Shady Oak Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55344, (952) 829-8356.

Research, Inc.'s products are designed to solve a wide variety of process problems involving heating, curing, drying, soldering, bonding, and annealing of many different materials. Encompassing a broad spectrum of industrial markets, our customers range from large, multi-divisional corporations to small proprietorships.
