ExcelliPrint 3.0 Release: Improved IPDS to Windows Printing

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho, March 14 / -- Brooks Internet Software, Inc. has released ExcelliPrint(R) 3.0 (http://ipds.brooksnet.com/) with updates and enhancements to improve IPDS-to-Windows printing. ExcelliPrint is an IPDS print server for Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003 platforms that allows any Windows-based printer to be used for IPDS printing. ExcelliPrint continues to provide real-world cost savings and benefits in IPDS print environments.

ExcelliPrint lowers IPDS printing costs by using common Windows-based printers to print IPDS documents. In version 3.0, any number of output destinations (printers or folders) can be purchased, whereas in 2.0 only two output destinations were allowed per license. This will allow users to replace many IPDS printers with one PC with ExcelliPrint installed, providing centralized IPDS printing management.

For those looking to save IPDS documents to disk, ExcelliPrint provides electronic archiving in standard formats, like PDF, PCL, TIFF, etc. Archiving these documents lowers printing costs, helps with regulatory compliance, and enables electronic file distribution. Version 3.0 contains improvements in output efficiency, ensuring that documents are converted and saved quickly and accurately.

iSeries (AS/400) IPDS devices can also be managed within the ExcelliPrint browser interface without the need of an emulator: iSeries devices can be created and controlled and spool files can be held and released. In version 3.0, spool files can now be moved between IPDS devices. Current customers use this interface to simplify their work with the iSeries. ExcelliPrint has been tested and can be used in conjunction with IBM iSeries and zSeries computers (AS/400, i5/OS, OS/390, z/OS) to receive and send Advanced Function Presentation (AFP) print jobs to any Windows-based printer (local or network) or to archive the jobs in various file formats such as PDF, PCL, PNG, JPEG, and TIFF.
