IP66 Rating for TFOCA GenX Fiber Optic Connector

STRAN Technologies' TFOCA GenX connector has successfully passed the moisture and dust
penetration resistance requirements of CEI IEC 60529, Degrees of Protection Provided by
Enclosures (IP Code), 2001-02. The testing was performed at an accredited 3rd party laboratory with the samples under test showing no evidence of penetration post test. A full report and video of the testing is available.

The TFOCA GenX connector is a hermaphroditic, fully sealed fiber optic termination suitable for the most demanding military and industrial applications. "Adding the IP66 certification to this outstanding harsh environment connector, further endorses this design for critical industrial applications", says Sean Cahill, STRAN's lead engineer on the project. "This is a 'real world' test and our customers can feel assured that this connector can withstand extreme environmental conditions in any outdoor application".

Jim Stranberg, STRAN Technologies' owner and founder, adds "we are extremely proud of our outstanding reputation for providing world-class service and the highest-reliability products. We produce a range of industry leading multi-channel connectors including TFOCA 1, TFOCA GenX, TacLight/Hermaphroditic and Expanded Beam. We are committed to continuous improvement; this includes validation of our designs by seeking certifications such as this IP66 rating for the TFOCA GenX connector. Also, since acquiring the Johanson Fiber Optics product line in 2006, we now offer ruggedized and high reliability simplex connectors (ST, FC, SC, LC, MT-RJ) used in many military, commercial and industrial applications".

STRAN is an ISO9001 and Mil-I-45208 approved supplier and has DSCC QPL (Qualified
Product List) approval on M29504 optical termini and M28876 shipboard optical connectors. We are proud to report that we have successfully passed our AS91000 audit and with a perfect 1000/1000 score for the 2nd year in a row.
