IP Unity Glenayre and Carolina West Wireless Demonstrate the Short Voice Service (SVS) Solution at CTIA Wireless 2007

Carolina West Wireless deploys IP Unity Glenayre Versera ICE for delivery of voicemail services;

New innovations make Short Message Service (SMS) effortless for many demographic groups resistant to text messaging over cell phones

CTIA Wireless 2007, ORLANDO, FL - March 26, 2007 - IP Unity Glenayre Inc., the new leader in delivering carrier-grade messaging and multimedia solutions over IP, TDM and enterprise networks, has partnered with Carolina West Wireless to integrate QUALCOMM's patent-pending Short Voice Service(TM) (SVS) solution onto BREW devices. IP Unity Glenayre Inc. and Carolina West Wireless will demonstrate the SVS solution at CTIA Wireless 2007, being held March 27-29 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.

SVS, a new form of SMS, allows users to record, send and receive messages as voice, as opposed to traditional text messages. The recipient receives a SVS message notification in the same manner as an SMS notification, but the recipient listens to the message rather than reading it. Users benefit from SVS because they have the capability of rapidly sending and responding to messages.

The SVS demonstration being conducted at CTIA Wireless 2007 will include:

o Sending, receiving and forwarding of non-intrusive SVS messages in high-quality audio
o Sending, receiving and forwarding of SVS messages across heterogeneous network types and wireless service provider handoffs, enabled by IP Unity Glenayre's Versera ICETM messaging platform which allows for user access of messages across 2G, CDMA2000® and 3G mobile networks
o Forwarding of SVS messages to multiple recipients (broadcast lists) simultaneously

"Network diversity should not stand in the way of communication anywhere, to anyone," added IP Unity Glenayre chairman and CEO Arun Sobti. "That is why we are happy to work with QUALCOMM and Carolina Wireless to demonstrate how SVS features can be delivered transparently across any mobile network type and user device. SVS allows callers to concentrate on the message and benefit from the convenience."

"The integration and adoption of QUALCOMM's patent-pending BREW-based SVS mobile client by IP Unity Glenayre and Carolina West Wireless is an exciting opportunity to bring this value-added solution to consumers," stated Mitch Oliver, vice president of solutions and marketing for QUALCOMM Internet Services. "We continue to look forward to opportunities that bring similar value-added service differentiators to the wireless data industry."

Carolina West Wireless is a CDMA2000 network operator and has recently deployed IP Unity Glenayre's Versera ICE multi-services applications platform to enable delivery of full-featured voicemail to its cellular subscribers. The carrier is a regional cellular provider serving rural markets in Western North Carolina.

"These features are an exciting potential offering for our personal and professional subscribers across North Carolina," stated Slayton Stewart, CEO of Carolina West Wireless. "This kind of innovation offers great ease of use on our network, as well as service differentiation. It also offers the increased value subscribers expect from the largest carriers, which we want to be able to offer cost-effectively, quickly and without major investment."

Both IP Unity Glenayre and Carolina West Wireless will demonstrate the new SVS application at CTIA Wireless 2007, being held March 27-29 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando; demonstrations will be shown in booths 1363 and 1645.
