Adder Begins Shipping Small, High Performance KVM Over IP Solution

AdderLink ipeps Provides Secure, Remote Computer Management from Anywhere in the World

NEWBURYPORT, MA - August 27, 2007 - Adder, a leading developer of KVM switches, extenders and IP solutions, today announced it has begun shipping its new AdderLink ipeps KVM over IP solution to its network of North American resellers and distributors. AdderLink ipeps (IP Engine per Server) is a global computer management solution, allowing system administrators to securely access computers from anywhere in the world via the Internet or a corporate network.

AdderLink ipeps provides each computer with a dedicated KVM over IP engine. The palm-sized unit can be rack mounted and requires no additional power other than provided by the PS/2 or USB keyboard and interface. It is the first product to leverage Adventiq's on-chip KVM over IP technology. Adventiq's silicon solution uses highly efficient, adaptive compression algorithms and innovative video processing techniques to give a significantly improved user experience over a wide range of network bandwidths.

AdderLink ipeps provides full control of the connected server down to BIOS level following unexpected computer crashes or intentional restarts. When coupled with the ADDER.NET enterprise management software, the result is a non-blocking, multi-user, point-to-point KVM over IP solution with a centralized and secure management interface. ADDER.NET provides secure single-click access to any authorized device and also provides an activity log for security and historical information.

"The shipment of AdderLink ipeps marks a milestone for Adder as a company, as well as for the IT world," said Richard Cawdery Adder's Product Manager. "This product has really miniaturized KVM over IP. System administrators now have a secure, remote management solution that doesn't compromise performance, security or resources."

In addition to superior IP performance, the product delivers unmatched security through a number of features. AdderLink ipeps delivers enterprise grade security (AES 128 bit encryption and RSA 2048 bit public key authentication) as standard. It is further enhanced by the optional use of RealVNC that allows for the creation of ciphered user communications, providing a higher level of security than using a web-browser based client. Furthermore, the RealVNC application can be used on any client machine, anywhere in the world by running a Java version which is hosted on the ipeps device itself. The addition of RealVNC also gives users enhanced video performance that delivers clarity and eliminates latency which often occurs when driving heavy bandwidth applications over IP. In addition, up to 16 user profiles can be created with defined user access rights.

In designing AdderLink ipeps, Adder recognized that companies want to transfer files remotely. AdderLink ipeps has been engineered to act as a conduit through which data can be passed. A USB virtual media port allows users to easily transfer files to a controlled server by mimicking a USB mass storage device. "We are particularly proud of the easy method employed by ipeps for virtual media mapping, eliminating many of the difficulties common to virtual media devices," said Richard Cawdery.

AdderLink ipeps is available in a single or dual-access version. The dual-access version allows for both local and remote usage. The AdderLink ipeps $449 (U.S. List Price) and AdderLink ipeps dual-access $699 (U.S. List Price) are available worldwide through Adder's extensive distribution and reseller channels.
