Iomega Announces Easy Cloud Access for SMBs and Others

HANNOVER, Germany - CEBIT -

- Iomega Corporation is making cloud storage even more practical and easy
for service providers to offer to small and medium businesses (SMBs),
remote offices and distributed enterprises.

- New capabilities with Iomega network storage solutions now enable SMB
customers and others to seamlessly store data in EMC Atmos-powered
clouds.

Iomega, an EMC company (NYSE: EMC) and a global leader in data protection, today announced new integration between Iomega network storage solutions and EMC® Atmos(TM), making cloud computing a reality for smaller organizations and others by extending EMC Atmos cloud-based data protection and sharing to Iomega's network storage product offerings. The new integration gives SMBs, remote offices and distributed enterprises easy access to any Atmos powered cloud around the world.

The recently announced Iomega® StorCenter(TM) PX Server Class Series of network storage products (http://iomega.com/about/prreleases/2012/20110216-storcenter-server-class.html) features a new version of EMC® LifeLine(TM) software, which includes the Atmos Connector client software. In conjunction with a service provider, the Atmos Connector software lets a user copy data stored on an Iomega StorCenter network storage device directly to Atmos-powered cloud storage. Once a customer's data is in the cloud, it instantly becomes a backup copy to help protect the customer's data from various forms of outage. Additionally, customers can access their cloud-based data from more than one location to facilitate data movement and data sharing.

EMC Atmos is designed to provide powerful and efficient management of globally distributed cloud storage for big data environments. Service providers and enterprises can rapidly deploy new services with Atmos and the Atmos Cloud Delivery Platform, add-on software used to deliver and manage storage-as-a-service to any Atmos cloud. The Atmos Connector enables users of Iomega network storage solutions to take advantage of Atmos capabilities while having the flexibility to use their preferred Atmos-powered service provider. The commercial offerings of Atmos-powered cloud storage are especially important to business users of Iomega products who choose to use a commercial cloud storage service.

EMC Atmos is used by over 35 service providers worldwide, delivering Atmos-powered clouds in over 65 worldwide locations. Iomega network storage products are available worldwide from Iomega's network of distributors and resellers.
