Vistant Launches Intellistock(TM) Wireless Inventory Management System at APICS Conference

SAN DIEGO, CA, Oct. 28, 2002 - Vistant Corporation, a subsidiary of Cardinal Health, Inc. (NYSE:CAH), today unveiled its new IntelliStock(TM) product at the 2002 American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) International Conference in Nashville, TN. This flexible, cost-effective technology is designed to help industry eliminate manual, labor-intensive supply management processes.

IntelliStock is a wireless, open-stock inventory management system that features small transmitters (1½" x 2½") that can be affixed to existing shelves, racks or bins. Each transmitter has a "take" and "return" button and is used to track inventory levels of a specific SKU. Employees simply press the "take" button and take a necessary part, tool or supply. The transmitter sends wireless data to Vistant's Optivation(TM) software, which resides on either a nearby Vistant console or automated cabinet. As a result, customers are able to automatically track, reorder and manage supplies. IntelliStock is ideal for automating bench stock, MRO supplies and stockrooms.

Vistant has pre-released limited IntelliStock systems to initial customers, including a major installation at an aerospace maintenance and repair firm. With the product launch at APICS, Vistant is making IntelliStock available nationally. IntelliStock will be useful in a range of industries, including managing MRO supplies in an acrospace manufacturer's tool crib, automating lab supplies in a pharmaceutical firm's stock room, or tracking bench stock near a production line at an automotive firm or an electronics manufacturing firm. Additionally, IntelliStock is fully integrated into Vistant's product line, which is the broadest available in the point-of-use automation industry.

"Our customers have told us they require comprehensive systems that can manage the full range of materials found in their facilities," said Scott Peterson, president of Vistant Corporation. "We're the only company that can effectively and efficiently automate the management of everything from calibrated tools to cleanroom garments to service parts to laboratory supplies. We have the industry's leading research-and-development resources and production capabilities. As a result, we can more readily meet our customers' needs with innovative new products like IntelliStock

"With this product, we offer our clients a complete choice," said Peterson. "Our customers' challenge is to manage all supplies, not just those that fit in a cabinet. We understand that supply cabinet-only product lines are incomplete, so we are committed to giving our customers a total supply management solution."

Vistant also plans to showcase FlexiStock(TM) at APICS. This wireless, versatile system was designed to manage and control service parts for Fortune 500 customers. A key addition to the Vistant product line, FlexiStock can provide security and management for virtually any space, including FlexiStock cabinets, on-site stockrooms or offsite storage locations. FlexiStock is comprised of Internet connectivity (either wireless or via the customer's network), an external access control module and an internal data capture module.
