InteropNet® New York 2010 will be Powered Exclusively by Server Technology's Cabinet Power Distribution Units and Sentry Power Manager (SPM)

RENO, Nev. -- Server Technology, Inc. has been chosen by Interop to be the exclusive provider of Power Distribution Units (PDU's) for the InteropNet event network at Interop® NY 2010 on October 18th to October 22nd at the Javits Convention Center in New York, NY.

The InteropNet network, built to support voice, video, and data for thousands of demanding attendees and sponsoring exhibitors, will be powered by Server Technology's intelligent cabinet PDUs which provide power management via IP, branch circuit protection, per outlet power sensing (POPSTM), remote and local input current power monitoring, environmental monitoring and serial console port access. As the select provider of PDU's, Server Technology has also installed Sentry Power Manager (SPM) in the InteropNet. SPM is a 1U appliance and software package capable of globally monitoring and managing multiple Sentry CDU devices in IP-based enterprise networks. SPM brings the entire network of intelligent CDUs to a central interface to provide a single view for power and environmental information.

InteropNet will be utilizing devices from three locations in various facilities across the country including the show site. Using SPM and POPSTM PDUs, all the PDUs on the InteropNet can be accessed globally from a single central interface, giving the InteropNet engineers access to device level power monitoring, management, power trends, and alarms without having to login to the firmware of individual PDUs.

"We've brought out latest solutions to power the InteropNet. The deployment of SPM into the InteropNet takes the network to a whole new level," said Brandon Ewing, CEO for Server Technology, "Bringing all the PDUs' data to a single interface will allow for the calculation of efficiency metrics and establish faster notification and tracking of potential problems."

In collaboration with leading vendors, the InteropNet is built with best of breed products that are ready to meet any network challenge. Server Technology's PDUs provide a secure web based GUI, logging, Syslog support, email notification, alarms and SNMP traps based on user defined thresholds for power and environmental conditions, LDAP and LDAPS, RADIUS, TACACS+, Telnet, and out of band serial access for secure PDU access, communications and control. Environmental monitoring and control are also available along with power information such as input feed watts and system watts per square foot of the cabinet. When Server Technology Sentry PDUs are combined with the Sentry Power Manager (SPM) software application it allows an IT Manager to manage thousands of Sentry Cabinet Power Distribution Units (PDU's) in multiple locations, providing one central interface for conditions including power, temperature and humidity. Status and alarm notification are in real time and can be viewed by their status; status views include current load, power, temperature, humidity and capacity. Quick and simple drill down from a global view to the rack level makes alarm acknowledgement and management of multiple PDU's a simple process. SPM can generate trends and reports from all the intelligent PDUs over multiple data centers and thus allow a user to track power and environmental metrics over time.

Server Technology will also be hosting a free InterOpNet Class from 3-3:45pm on Wednesday October 20th. The class will present the power management architecture deployed within the InterOp Net and will discuss the power monitoring and management control solutions with the data center environment. Interop New York attendees will have the opportunity to take free, engineer-led tours of the InteropNet throughout the exhibition and gain a practical, behind the scenes view. Tours start at the InteropNet NOC with tours scheduled daily.

The Sentry Cabinet Distribution Units (CDU's) were the first family of cabinet-level power distribution units to provide 30-amp power distribution (110V and 208V, 208V 3-Phase) directly to the equipment cabinet while providing Branch Circuit Protection within the CDU. The Sentry CDU's are also the first power distribution units to meet the stringent requirements of the National Electric Code (NEC) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 60950-1, which is now required of all new 30-amp rack-level PDUs. Server Technology now has a line Smart Power Monitors for easily adding intelligent power monitoring to any existing server cabinet.
