New Lightweight Portable Fiber Optic Micro-Interferometer Has Industry-Leading Vertical Resolution at Low Cost

February 8, 2002, Barrington, NJ - Edmund Industrial Optics (EO) of Barrington, New Jersey has added a rugged, low cost Fiber Optic Micro-Interferometer to its product line. This fully portable, lightweight product has an industry-leading 0.12 micron vertical resolution, connects to ST, FC and SC fibers, and is ideal for field and laboratory inspection.

This unique product has numerous uses including viewing and measuring the PC and APC polish radii of curvature, inspection of surface finish for scratches and defects, and viewing
and measuring apex offset and fiber undercut or protrusion to ensure a proper polish for the lowest possible return loss (lowest back reflection).

The Interferometer comes complete with a carbide connector mount for FC, STF and SC connectors that will never wear out or damage the ceramic ferrule, a 110/120V AC wall adapter, glass reference flats, hydrophobic solution, carrying case, operating manual and 9V DC battery adapter. Edmund Industrial Optics also offers a fully compatible C-Mount Video Adapter that is ideal for use with CCD cameras.
