Yokogawa Continues Commitment to HART Technology
Enhancements Provide Users More of the Power of HART
Newnan, Georgia - With the introduction of fully redundant HART interface modules for Yokogawa's CENTUM CS3000 R3 distributed control system, the company has enabled its users to install HART-capable I/O into remotely mounted units within Class 1 Division 2 environments, and can include such options as ISA G3 corrosion resistance and high temperature rating of -20° to +70°C. These modules, as well as all Yokogawa manufactured systems products, can be offered with a 5-year warranty in North America.
The release of Yokogawa's Field Device Asset Management application solution - Plant Resource Manager (PRM) - adds to the Yokogawa commitment to provide access to more of the power residing inside HART devices. The product is an integrated software solution that unifies the monitored data from intelligent and non-intelligent field devices allowing for the management and maintenance of these devices. The PRM software
solution operates within the CENTUM CS1000/CS3000 R3 control system environment or as a stand-alone solution. The key benefit of PRM is that it provides easy access to automatically collected data from both HART and FOUNDATION Fieldbus devices (with other field networks to follow), and allows integration, management, and maintenance of these field devices using a common database. The results - integrated plant and device
performance data, maintenance records, audit trails, device configuration with auto-device detection, historic data
management, parameter comparison, advanced device diagnostics information, and access to on-line documentation such as device drawings, parts list and manuals.
Previously, individual suppliers had their own proprietary smart sensors. With these enhancements and solutions, a new era of opportunity in the area of providing device diagnostics, calibration and configuration from multiple device suppliers has emerged.
