Original Press Release:

Add PCMCIA Ports to Industrial PCs

With new interface cards from CyberResearch, Inc., you can add front or rear PCMCIA ports to any PC that has a PCI or ISA slot available. PM Series interfaces let you prototype data-acquisition and motion-control systems on your desktop, then move them to the field using the same PCMCIA cards you already tested!

With the proliferation of portable and notebook PCs, the demand for ultra-compact PCMCIA cards has grown. Unfortunately, PCMCIA ports are not usually provided on desktop and panel-mount PCs. That's why CyberResearch(R) offers PCMCIA interface units for any PC that has PCI or ISA slots.

If you need front or side access, choose PCMCIA ports that mount in a 3.5" drive bay. The PM 235P unit (shown) offers a Type II and a Type III PCMCIA port and communicates via a PCI slot. The PM 235A offers the same two ports but communicates via ISA. A third unit combines one Type III PCMCIA port with a 1.44 MB floppy drive. It communicates via PCI. For rear access, a fourth unit lets you mount PCMCIA cards directly on a PCI card, without a 3.5" drive bay.

All four of these units run under Windows(R) 98/2000/ME/NT. PM Series PCMCIA cards can be hot swapped under Windows 98/2000/ME.

In addition to PCMCIA interfaces - now shipping from stock - CyberResearch, Inc., also offers custom-built PCs, panel-mount, desktop, and rack-mount PCs, a wide variety of PC accessories, and data-acquisition and motion-control systems.
