Mate Introduces latest Evolution In Its Ultra Tooling Line - Ultra XT(TM) - A Mid-Range Tool System With Interchangeability Features And Long Life Design For Maximum Productivity
Anoka, Minnesota: Mate Precision Tooling announces introduction of its new Ultra XTTM tooling line, combining both long life design and interchangeability features for maximum performance and cost effective punching.
"Ultra XT is a new, economical tooling alternative with more features than original style thick turret tooling, but not as full-featured as Mate's Ultra Tec® line," reports Frank Baeumler, Vice President of Marketing. "It gives press operators another choice to achieve the highest quality punching at the lowest cost per part."
Mate Ultra XT incorporates many unique design advantages for achieving superior performance in punching holes. These include quick setup, easy installation, faster maintenance, and interchangeability with other suppliers' tools and tooling systems.
A main feature of the new Ultra XT tooling is the quick length adjustment of the punch length. With a push of the quick length adjustment button, rotation of the punch head adjusts the punch length. Ultra XT tooling also has hardened and ground guides, which reduce the abrasive action of punching, and interior and exterior spiral grease grooves, which diffuse heat effectively.
These guides extend tool life, increase turret life and improve machine uptime.
Slug Free® dies, an exclusive Mate feature, are designed to clear the slug with every cycle. This eliminates slug pulling, extends tool life, improves piece part quality and reduces scrap.
Ultra XT provides multiple angle settings and is available for all stations. The 1/2" A station and 1-1/4" B station guides accept Ultra Tec® style stripper discs, which enables the addition of .118" (3.00 mm) grind life on all punches. The 2" C, 3-1/2" D and 4-1/2" E station guides are designed to accept original style OEM strippers.
