Mango DSP Delivers a Reference Design Based on TI's DaVinci(TM) Technology Running ObjectVideo® OnBoard(TM)

Using Mango's Pegasus Reference Design, Camera Manufacturers Will Benefit From ObjectVideo OnBoard Video Content Analysis Capabilities

JERUSALEM, April 12 -- Mango DSP, a leading provider of video servers for the CCTV, video surveillance, Homeland Security and Defense markets, and ObjectVideo(R), the leader in intelligent video, today announced the launch of a reference design based on Texas Instruments' DaVinci(TM) technology supported by ObjectVideo(R) OnBoard(TM). This solution is designed to provide camera manufacturers a fast and simple integration of ObjectVideo's content analysis capabilities into their IP cameras, offering a revolutionary "off the shelf" approach for creating an intelligent original equipment manufacturer (OEM) or original development manufacturer (ODM) solution, positively impacting the time to market and development cost of new IP cameras.

ObjectVideo OnBoard allows OEMs to significantly increase the value and effectiveness of their solutions by embedding intelligent video into a wide variety of devices. ObjectVideo OnBoard provides comprehensive capabilities and packages them as embedded firmware that runs on TI's TMS320DM6446, based on DaVinci technology, inside many video network devices.

Mango DSP launched the Pegasus Embedded reference design, an intelligent video server, at the worldwide Texas Instruments Developer Conference (TIDC) less than a month ago. The Pegasus offers the industry an open application programming interface (API) with integration of ObjectVideo's analytic software with DaVinci technology. The Pegasus is equipped with a Micron CMOS sensor and is packaged in a very small form factor, enabling integration to a large variety of cameras. Pegasus supports leading video CODECS such as MPEG4 and H.264 with high resolution capabilities, including the option to extract megapixel JPEG images. Pegasus supports applications such as video streaming, analytics, onboard storage options and USB connectivity.

"Mango has consistently developed very high quality reference design and video server solutions and is a key player in making device-based video analytics a reality for a variety of manufacturers," said Joel Moss, managing director, partner channels for ObjectVideo.

"The meaning of this cooperation is that every camera manufacturer wanting to integrate ObjectVideo OnBoard software and take advantage of the TI's DaVinci technology high- performance DSP will be able to do so by using our new Pegasus reference design intelligent video server," said Baruch Peled, CEO of Mango. "We selected ObjectVideo for this Pegasus solution to offer camera manufacturers a low cost and effective intelligent IP camera solution."
