Tripp Lite Introduces New Line of 3-Phase UPS Systems in North America

Chicago, IL (April 15, 2005) Tripp Lite, a world leader in the manufacture of power protection equipment, has introduced a new line of 3-Phase SmartOnline(TM) Intelligent True On-Line UPS Systems with either 20kVA or 30kVA power capacities. These new UPS Systems (model #s: SU20K3/3 and SU30K3/3) feature 120/208V 3-phase hardwired input and output.

Tripp Lite SmartOnline 3-Phase UPS Systems offer the cleanest form of AC output power available. Double-conversion technology continually converts incoming AC power into filtered DC power, and then perfectly re-synthesizes it into low-distortion AC power. This constant on-line operation generates a pure sine wave output with zero transfer time and completely isolates sensitive connected equipment from all power problems. These 3-Phase UPS Systems automatically correct a wide range of incoming voltages, saving battery power for when it's needed during a blackout. Voltage correction ranges are within 88-144 volts or 166-250 volts. Included IGBT inverter technology produces output power with <3% total harmonic distortion (THD), allowing connected equipment to continuously perform at its peak.

SmartOnline 3-Phase UPS Systems include both a power module and a battery module. A manual bypass switch as well as an automatic bypass function on the power module ensures 100% availability of connected equipment by safely passing through AC power should the power module require maintenance. The power module includes the UPS system's informative LCD control panel, communication ports and inverter/charger components. The power module delivers true on-line, pure sine wave power to connected equipment. The power module works with a battery module to supply battery backup during a blackout. Additional optional external battery modules can be added to extend the runtime of connected equipment during a blackout. Custom external battery modules for even greater runtime are also available.

"Our new 3-Phase UPS Systems are ideal for protecting equipment in computing, networking, telecommunications, or industrial environments," stated David Slotten, Tripp Lite Director of Product Management. "These units are sure to win favor among power protection customers seeking the best combination of performance and price."

SmartOnline 3-Phase UPS Systems include three communications ports, an SNMP slot and a remote EPO jack. PowerAlert Universal UPS Power Management Software provides power management, monitoring and control locally or remotely through TCP/IP. Intelligent communications allow users to check UPS status (including battery charge level) and AC power status.

In addition to its standard warranty, Tripp Lite provides a variety of optional extended service and support programs for all SmartOnline 3-Phase UPS Systems. Start-Up Service Programs are recommended and available separately to verify that correct installation has occurred, enhancing the reliability of the installation. A Site Survey Service (to prepare a detailed report of site conditions and tailor-made protection solutions) and On-Site Extended Warranties (for added peace of mind) are also available.

In addition to these SmartOnline 3-Phase UPS Systems, Tripp Lite offers three more models ranging from 10-30KVA, designed for the international market. These include the SU10K3/1X, SU20K3/3X and SU30K3/3X models. All SmartOnline 3-Phase UPS Systems are available now through major power protection distributors.
