Intelligent Controls and Efficient Pumping Stations Help Processors to Outperform

East Dundee, Ill. - Frigel's advanced microprocessor control and pumping stations are the intelligent choice for rounding out an ultra-efficient, water saving process cooling system. They will be on display with the Ecodry System at NPE 2009 in Frigel's South Hall booth, #42020.

Frigel's control system takes process cooling to the next level. Besides maintaining a consistent and reliable process water temperature, it automatically adjusts for freezing temperatures, recognizes opportunities to provide free cooling, and maintains energy efficiency within the entire process cooling system.

"This technology was perfected in Europe where energy is more expensive and water quality a challenge," said Frigel North America president Steve Petrakis. "We now face similar challenges in other parts of the world and energy and water saving technology like Frigel's advanced control system is imperative to the industry's future success."

The advanced microprocessor is a key component to the energy saving operation of an Ecodry System. Based on ambient temperature and process water temperature, the controller automatically adjusts fan speed and initiates evaporative functions, generating the required cooling capacity with optimum efficiency. The control panel can be remotely located at any distance from the system, allowing easy and constant control of working conditions and immediate action if alarm activates.

Another key function of the microprocessor is controlling water pressure and pump rotation of the system's pumping station - the Aquagel - to save energy and boost equipment longevity. The Aquagel is a complete pump and reservoir system managing process and re-circulating cooling water for Frigel's Ecodry System.

"Getting top performance from a process cooling system is imperative in today's competitive economy," said Petrakis. "That's why components like Frigel's microprocessor controller and pumping stations are so important. Processors need to consider all facets of their process as opportunities to save energy, water and maintenance costs and to become more competitive."

Aquagel components, including the reservoir tanks, process pumps, manifolds and trim, are stainless steel, sturdy and completely rust-free, ensuring long equipment life. The modular configuration allows for simple, cost-effective capacity increases as the industry rebounds and processors grow. Each pumping unit is complete, and ready for immediate use, available in models optimized for cooling capacities of 1,020 tons or more.

Frigel has been a worldwide market leader in intelligent process cooling since the 1960s. Foremost among Frigel's products is Ecodry, a unique, closed-loop intelligent cooling system that's been proven at more than 5,500 manufacturing installations worldwide. The Ecodry system dramatically reduces water usage and keeps cooling water clean, providing companies an environmentally-friendly cooling solution. Coupled with the break through, cycle time improving Microgel, the result is substantial savings on water, chemicals, energy and maintenance. The Ecodry system gives users the power to outperform.
