Intek, Inc. Achieves ATEX and IECEx Certification for Rheotherm Products
Westerville, OH – June 13, 2019 — Intek, Inc. is proud to announce that it has received ATEX and IECEx Certifications for its Rheotherm® line of flow meters and flow switches for use in potentially explosive atmospheres and hazardous environments.
This certification applies to the following Rheotherm models:
- Model 210R Flow Meter
- Model 100FS Flow Switch
- Model 111D Flow Meter
The certifications apply to all available Rheotherm sensor styles – inline (TU/TUL/TUS) or insertion probe (NPT/BF/RV/PG).
The applicable standards included in this certification are:
- For the flow transducers – II 1 G Ex ia IIC T4 Ta = -40°C to +60°C
- For the Intrinsic Safety Barrier – II (1) G [Ex ia] IIC; IECEx FMG 17.0021X
The previous FM Approvals also apply to the units:
- Class I, II, III, Division 1 Groups ABCDEFG
- Class I, Zone 0 AEx ia IIC T4 Ga
These instruments were previously certified for operation in hazardous locations by Factory Mutual for use in the United States and Canada, however, this new certification applies to countries across the globe including the UK, Europe and the EU.
