Integration Technology Rolls Out More Choice in UV LED Curing for Inkjet and Emerging Markets

UV LED curing solutions as diverse in application as the new markets emerging for their use are a feature of second half year product launches from pioneering UK developer, Integration Technology Ltd (ITL) www.uvintegration.com

A major roll-out of ground-breaking UV LED 'pinning' systems for wide-format high-speed inkjet printers, static inkjets and other industrial curing applications requiring high intensity UV has been initiated by the Oxfordshire company.

The new programme, unveiled at last month's IMI Ink Jet Technology Showcase in Baltimore, USA, constitutes one of the most significant offers to market to date with a further seven air-cooled and three water-cooled systems to be added to ITL's existing offerings.

The 10 new products expand ITL's LEDZero programme by up to 12 different models, eight of which are air cooled (LEDZero Pincure) and four water-cooled (LEDZero Solidcure).

All systems are scaleable up to 2.4m wide for large applications and cover output intensities ranging from 0.5 - 8 W/cm sq.

The company is releasing the systems incrementally until December 2010.

Available from September are new air-cooled Pincure +, a compact, lightweight solution for high speed pinning with double Pincure's 0.5 W/cm sq intensity, and water-cooled Solidcure N, now with a 16mm exposure window and all the existing range's benefits in low footprint, high output, instant on/off, reduced heat to substrate, and long service life.

Incoming by this year end from ITL are additions to the Solidcure range in Solidcure N and N+ together with brand new ranges for more demanding inkjet pinning and entry level full curing in air-cooled VTwin and VTwin+.

Also forthcoming are air-cooled models Hi-cure and Hi-cure+, Hi-cure Cure N and N+, the outcome of two-year's intensive R&D to develop a new UV-rich array utilising a special LED die, emitting across a wider spectrum than previously possible and allowing for a greater choice of chemistry in application.

The global UV market's most prominent innovator in inkjet applications, ITL has been a consistent investor in rolling-out ever more advanced technology to market.

The company has seen growing interest in potential applications for its LEDZero series products in many applications such as decorating, product packaging, product assembly, printed electronics, and photovoltaics in addition to the wide format digital printing market, of which the company already has significant market share.

ITL sees these latest introductions as the most significant development in extending choice to existing and emerging markets.

"As the potential is recognised for UV LED application in sectors outside digital inkjet printing, so too is understanding that different markets have differing needs," says ITL managing director Adrian Lockwood.

"Our role as market innovator is to meet these with solutions specific to task and our late 2010 product releases measure how concertedly this company has again stepped up to the mark."
