Certainteed Duct Wrap Insulation Improves HVAC System Operation
VALLEY FORGE, PA, JANUARY 2002- CertainTeed Duct Wrap Insulation is a strong, resilient blanket-type insulation that is easily fit and installed on HVAC ductwork.
Composed of glass fibers bonded together with a thermosetting resin, Duct Wrap Insulation helps control heat loss and condensation during HVAC system operation. Ductwork enclosed in the duct wrap can handle conditioned air at temperatres from 35° F to 250° F. for faced duct wrap and 35° F to 350° F for unfaced wrap.
The faced duct wrap is available with either an FSK or vinyl film vapor retarder facing. The FSK facing is a glass scrim reinforced laminate of aluminum foil and kraft paper, bonded together with a flame retardant adhesive. The vinyl film facing is available in the colors of white or gray. Both faced products include a 2-in.-wide stapling and taping tab on one edge for ease of installation.
CertainTeed Duct Wrap Insulation's thermal properties help reduce heat loss or gain from equipment and ductwork, which can in turn result in energy savings and improved system performance. When installed with the proper thickness of insulation, Duct Wrap Insulation helps control condensation
problems on cold duct surfaces. It is available in a variety of thicknesses.
