Henkel Introduces Surface Insensitive Cyanoacrylates
Adhesives Cure Rapidly on Dry or Acidic Surfaces
Rocky Hill, Conn. - February 4, 2004.... Henkel has introduced two surface insensitive cyanoacrylate adhesives designed to cure rapidly in dry environments and on acidic surfaces, conditions where cure time is typically delayed. Loctite® 4500(TM) and Loctite® 4501(TM) Instant Adhesives will cure up to five times faster than traditional cyanoacrylate adhesives on certain substrates.
Both new surface insensitive cyanoacrylates are designed to rapidly bond a wide range of metal, plastic and elastomeric materials, and are particularly effective on acidic, porous and absorbent surfaces such as freshly plated parts, dichromates, wood, leather, paper, and certain plastics. These products also maintain their liquid performance properties well over their entire shelf life, offering consistently rapid fixture speed and dependable viscosity.
Loctite® 4500(TM) Instant Adhesive is a single component gel cyanoacrylate formulated specifically for use on dry or acidic surfaces that traditionally require longer cure times. The product's gel consistency prevents adhesive flow even on vertical applications. Loctite® 4501(TM) Instant Adhesive is a wicking viscosity, single component cyanoacrylate designed to maintain its cure speed for an extended time period.
