Enhanced Unilux Battery Kit Boosts Runtime, Handling, Durability; Trade-In Program Launches Extended Run Product Introduction

SADDLE BROOK, NJ October 18, 2005 - Unilux has introduced an enhanced rechargeable battery/handle combination kit for its handheld surface inspection strobe lights. The new Extended Run battery kit has 50 percent more runtime than the previous Unilux battery and is half the cost. The kit's new handle has a better balance between the weight of the battery and light head for easier handling during inspection operation. The new handle also has a more durable housing for longer life in harsh production environments.

As part of the Extended Run battery and kit introduction, Unilux is offering a US$130 credit when a current handle and battery are traded in with the purchase of a new kit, making the cost US$150 with the trade-in. The full price of US$280 is less than half the cost of the previous battery kit. The new kit is interchangeable with all Unilux battery kits now in use.

"The new handle has a pistol grip, which makes it feel more like a power tool," said Mike Simonis, president, Unilux. "The better balance will make the lights much easier to handle. The new handle forms a better base that enables the light to stand upright on a flat surface while adjustments are made to machinery. We've also added a heavy-duty switch and faster, easier battery change out, making Unilux a better and more economical working tool that will help inspectors and machinery maintenance people work much more efficiently."

The 14.4-volt Extended Run battery operates at 2.4 Amp hours and can take 350 charges with the 50 percent longer runtime. It fits the Unilux LOL-5, Miti-Lite, Beacon, Cricket and Scout. A lighter weight 2.0 Amp hour battery is available for the LOL-5, and it has a 20 percent longer runtime than the current Unilux battery.
