Unilux Portable Miti-Lite JR Increases Battery Life, User Flexibility; Lowers Price
SADDLE BROOK, NJ April 2, 2002 - Production line inspectors can get 50 percent longer battery-life at a 33 percent lower price with the new Miti-Lite JR, a portable, hand-held stroboscopic surface inspection light from Unilux Inc. (www.unilux.com). The new light is a companion to Miti-Lite VC from Unilux, the designer- and manufacturer of stroboscopic systems that enable surface inspection at full production speeds for the worldwide paper, metals and printing/converting industries. "Our customers love the portability of a hand-held, battery-powered strobe light for trouble shooting in hard-to-access places along their production lines," said Mike Simonis, vice president, international sales. "Since there are many applications out there that didn't require quite as much power as the standard Miti-Lite VC, we now offer a less expensive model for those applications with the Miti-Lite JR. By reducing intensity from 900 to 600 lux, we've increased the battery life significantly, and we still were able to give our customers all the standard Miti-Lite features at a greatly reduced price. "The Miti-Lite JR's output is still about six times brighter than any other comparable stroboscopic inspection light on the market and more than meets the needs of many customer applications," he continued. "It is well-suited to paper and steel mills, where you can't get close to the line to see a specific part of the web. For those who need the brighter light because of brighter ambient light conditions, the Miti-Lite VL is a proven inspection light." Unilux stroboscopic lighting enables operators and inspectors to see surface defects and imperfections in real time at full production speeds. The light's short-duration, high-intensity light pulses make webs moving at up to 700m per minute appear motionless. This, in turn, provides "frozen" images that make surface defects stand out for identification and correction. Unilux Inc., headquartered in Saddle Brook, NJ, has more than 40 years of experience in the design and manufacture of industrial surface inspection lighting systems for the printing/converting, metals and papermaking industries and heavy-duty strobe lighting systems for the film and video industry.
