Inspection Camera with Zoom and Articulating Head is Now Available from Medit Inc.
The new INSPEKTOR Zoom pole-mounted camera (http://www.fiberscope.net/zoom-inspection-camera.html ) , recently introduced by Medit Inc., distinguishes itself from most tools of the same kind thanks to a few important characteristics. First, it is equipped with an articulating camera head. The 2 way articulation (90 degree in each direction) allows to inspect hard to access areas without having to rotate and move the camera or remove and readjust it. Then, the pole camera boasts an impressive spectrum of additional and/or optional features placing it well ahead of most similar inspection devices.
The INSPEKTOR telescopic pole consists of four sections, three of which are built in durable break-proof aluminum and the fourth one is made of fibreglass. The fibreglass section contains mechanical pull cables wired to the twist handle used to articulate the camera head. The standard length of the pole ranges from 4 ft. (1.24m) in the collapsed state to 10.9 ft. (3.3m) when fully extended. The pole is modular and, if necessary, it can be extended with extra aluminum pole sections up to 40 ft (12m). The standard 2.5'' (63mm) camera head can also be replaced with a thermal or an infrared head depending on the application.
The built-in digital processor enhances live image, while a low light sensitive camera chip ensures good performance even in darkness. The device head is equipped with 24 bright white LED lights which illuminate the inspection area even in complete darkness. Due to the 10x optical zoom the inspection range can run anywhere from 1 ft. to 200 ft. in good light and from 1 ft. to 100 ft. in complete darkness. The image is visualized on a large 5.6'' (14.2cm) display with built-in DVR with 640x480 pixel resolution. For increased portability the captured files are recorded onto an SD card. The storage capacity depends entirely upon the capacity of the card (1GB holds about 250 still photos or 1 hour of video).
The kit includes 2 rechargeable NiMH batteries, a chest harness, a right angle adapter and a hard plastic carrying case. Thanks to its characteristics, the INSPEKTOR zoom camera is a particularly good fit for security and law enforcement-related applications, such as searches for drugs, explosives or arms, tank inspections, or customs inspections. In addition, it can be used for manhole and sewer checkups.
