Spirol International Introduces Press-In Insert Family

Brass inserts designed for pressing into plastic without heat or ultrasonic equipment

DANIELSON. CT - Spirol International Corporation has launched a new series of brass inserts intended to be cold pressed into plastic without melting the plastic prior to insertion. These inserts have been designed to be installed with either an arbor press or a fully automated machine. The new brass press-in inserts have a helical knurl designed to optimize plastic migration into the knurl. Extensive plastic migration into the knurl provides good pull-out and torque resistance. In addition, a generous pilot ensures proper alignment of the insert to the hole and perpendicularity after installation. This insert series is ideal for ABS and polycarbonate plastics in applications such as securing circuit boards and displays onto plastic housings. Spirol Series 50 is a through hole press-in insert and Spirol Series 51 is a headed, through hole press-in insert.
