Thinbit MiniGroove'N Turn Announces U.S Patent



THINBIT®, manufactured by Kaiser Tool Company, announces United States Patent No. 6,722,825 was awarded for their MiniGROOVE 'N TURN® inserts. The inserts' unique clamping system and built in stop prevent slippage and rotation during axial or radial cuts and allows the user to groove, turn and profile.

MiniGROOVE 'N TURN® inserts are configured such that the same insert can be used for internal grooving, face grooving, profiling or boring. MiniGROOVE 'N TURN® inserts are available in groove width sizes of .004" to .125" in .001" increments with either sharp corners or corner radius. Inserts are available in two (2) sub-micron grain carbide grades, DM-2® for steel and interrupted cutting, and DM-5® for aluminum and other non-ferrous alloys. TiN, TiCN, TiAlN and Diamond coatings are available. Special configurations are available upon request. Round toolholders are available in ¼", 3/8", ½", 5/8" and ¾" in steel, heavy metal and carbide.
