Insertion Toroidal Conductivity Sensor suits benign applications.

Press Release Summary:

Designed for applications in cooling towers and metal plating, Model 247's body is constructed of solvent-bonded chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC). Sensor withstands process temperatures to 165°F and pressures to 100 psig. It can be mounted using customized 2 in. CPVC flow tee, or it can be submersed into process after cementing PVC or CPVC 1 in. slip fitting onto its back end.

Rosemount Analytical Introduces Low-Cost Alternative for Toroidal Applications

Model 247 CPVC Insertion Toroidal Sensor Offers State-of-the-Art Technology in Low-cost Solution for Toroidal Applications

Irvine, Calif., October 8, 2002 - Rosemount Analytical offers state-of-the-art technology in a low-cost solution for benign applications. Emerson Process Management, Rosemount Analytical, Liquid Division introduces the Model 247 CPVC Insertion Toroidal Sensor. The new sensor is designed for applications in cooling towers and metal plating where a more rugged toroidal sensor is not required. The Model 247 provides a simple, cost-effective solution at only $395.

"The Model 247 sensor is designed for solutions where customers don't want to buy more sensor than they need," notes John Wright, vice president of marketing, Emerson Process Management, Rosemount Analytical, Liquid division. "This sensor is simple and economical; it provides what you need for benign applications without the frills and extras you only need for some of the more harsh applications."

Constructed of a solvent-bonded chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) body, the Model 247 sensor can withstand process temperatures up to 165°F (75°C) and 100 psig (790 kPa absolute). The simpler Model 247 sensor is more cost-effective for applications where the tougher, more expensive polymers, like Teflon and polyetheretherketone (PEEK), are not necessary.

The Model 247 is easy to install. It can offer multiple mounting options: it can be mounted using a customized two-inch CPVC flow tee, or it can be submersed into the process after cementing a common PVC or CPVC one-inch slip fitting onto its back end.
