BURKERT ANNOUNCES TYPE 8045HT INSERTION MAGFLOWMETER

MEETING THE CHALLENGES OF HIGH TEMPERATURES/PRESSURES

IRVINE, CALIF., NOVEMBER 7, 2003 - Burkert introduces the Type 8045HT Insertion Magflowmeter, featuring a stainless steel insertion sensor that allows it to meet the high-temperature/high-pressure requirements of markets that include water treatment (e.g. drinking water, waste water, swimming pools), food/beverage (e.g. CIP cleaning circuits), irrigation (e.g. flow control), and general industry (e.g. utilities). This solid-state sensor, which shows flow rate and volume, accommodates charged and uncharged fluids (normal, contaminated, viscose).

The Type 8045HT handles medium temperatures up to 230°F and fluid pressures up to 230 psi. Measuring velocity range is 0.33 f/s to 32.8 f/s. Minimum conductivity is >20 µS/cm, while maximum viscosity capability is 2000 mm2/s (cSt). Measuring error applying manual works calibration or teach-in is = ±2% o.R. (3.28-32.8 f/s); applying standard K-factor, = ±4% o.R. (3.28-32.8 f/s). Linearity is = ±(1% o.R. + 0.1% fs), while repeatability is ±0.25% o.R. The Type 8045HT is compatible with pipe diameters of 1/2- to 8-inches (Burkert's Weld- O-Let connection technology for larger pipe diameters permits system cost savings of up to 60%).

Standard outputs for the Type 8045HT include pulse, relay and 4- 20mA. The menu-driven unit is operated via a three-key control pad that is part of a large, eight-character digital display; a transparent display cover ensures easy viewing of process values while offering mechanical and chemical protection. A simulation mode allows the Type 8045HT to be dry-run and adjusted before putting it into actual operation. The unit carries FDA approval.

The Type 8045HT can be easily connected to standard remote electronic devices such as a PLC plus these Burkert devices:
o Type 2030 (2/2-way piston-operated diaphragm valve)
o Type 8630/2712 (digital positioning unit mounted on a globe control valve)
o Type 8644-P AirLINE (remote process actuation control system/Phoenix contact)
o Type S020 fitting (available in stainless steel, brass, PVC, PVDF, PP)
