Insert Grades aid in cast iron turning applications.

Press Release Summary:

Insert grades are available in 3 types: GC3205, suited for high-speed machining in gray cast iron; GC3210, suited for high-speed machining in nodular cast iron, and GC3215, suited for difficult conditions in all cast iron materials. KR insert geometry, ideal for cast iron roughing, handles demanding cutting conditions while reducing vibration, noise, and power consumption with lower cutting forces.

Sandvik Coromant To Give Cast Iron Turning a Boost

Fairlawn, NJ, August 7, 2003 Three new insert grades and a new cutting geometry are the latest contribution from Sandvik Coromant to the cast iron turning ISO K-area. The GC3205 for high speed machining in grey cast iron, GC3210 for high speed machining in nodular cast iron, and GC3215 for difficult conditions in all cast iron materials enhance not only productivity but the working environment as well.

The new KR insert geometry is the first choice for cast iron roughing. A combination of features makes it the strongest insert available. The KR geometry is equipped to handle demanding cutting conditions, while at the same time reducing vibration and power consumption with lower cutting forces. This also helps to lower the noise levels in the workshop.

These new insert grades and geometry in combination with the CoroTurn RC clamping system form an outstanding cutting tool package for high performance in cast iron machining operations.
