Sandvik Coromant Introduces Stainless Turning the Easy Way



Fairlawn, NJ, August 7, 2003- The new GC2025 insert grade from Sandvik Coromant is the easy solution for anyone turning stainless steel. The new all-in-one insert grade covers the major part of small batch productions in stainless steel, specifically in the pumps and flanges, aerospace, couplings and food industries.

The GC2025 is a completely new grade consisting of new substrate with a unique mix of hardness and toughness, and a multi-layer that enables increased resistance to crack growth. Equipped with the new MT-CVD coating to reduce flaking, built-up edges and adhesions, the GC2025 provides numerous benefits to the user. These benefits include, excellent capability in roughing as well as in intermittent machining, the ability to machine with lower speeds near the center, higher peripheral speeds and improved performance when machining forged skin and duplex stainless steel.

The GC2025 is available with up to 7 insert geometries from finishing to roughing and in each of the CoroTurn 107 and T-Max programs.
