Insert Grade suits stainless steel turning.

Press Release Summary:

Type GC2025 all-in-one, multi-layer insert grade combines mix of hardness and toughness that provides resistance to crack growth. MT-CVD coating reduces flaking, built-up edges, and adhesions. Insert grade is capable of roughing as well as intermittent machining. It allows machining with lower speeds near center, in addition to higher peripheral speeds. GC2025 is available in up to 7 insert geometries.

Sandvik Coromant Introduces Stainless Turning the Easy Way

The new GC2025 insert grade from Sandvik Coromant is anything for anyone within turning stainless steel.

This new all-in-one insert grade covers the major part of small batch productions in stainless steel, ideally within industry areas like pumps and flanges, aerospace and couplings and food industry.

GC2025 is a completely new grade consisting of new substrate with a unique mix of hardness and toughness, and a multi-layer that enables increased resistance to crack growth. The new MT-CVD coating reduces flaking, built-up edges and adhesions. This means a number of benefits to the users.

o Excellent capability in roughing as well as in intermittent machining.
o Possibility to machine with lower speeds near the center as well as higher peripheral speeds.
o Improved performance when machining forged skin and in duplex stainless steel

This new optimized allround-grade is available in upto 7 insert geometries from finishing to roughing and in each of the CoroTurn 107and T-Max P programs.
